Aim & Scope

Aim

Krisis is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published biannually (in June and December) by Kafademi (Kafademi Scientific Research and Development Cooperative with Limited Liability). While rooted in sociology, Krisis features contributions from various disciplines within the social sciences. The journal’s primary aim is to examine phenomena of social crisis not merely through their outcomes, but through their historical origins, structural dynamics, cultural traces, and psychosocial implications—offering a holistic perspective. In line with this aim, Krisis seeks to foster interdisciplinary and comparative scholarly debates and contribute to the search for meaningful solutions.

Scope

Krisis welcomes contributions that explore the historical roots of social crises, their structural inequalities and systemic dynamics, and their political, economic, and environmental dimensions—as well as their reflections in everyday practices, social relations, and psychosocial processes. The journal particularly encourages research that examines the impact of crises on cultural productions, media representations, digital communication, and social media interactions.

It features theoretical, empirical, or methodological studies that draw on disciplines such as sociology, political science, psychology, anthropology, communication, economics, law, history, and cultural studies—especially those that adopt an interdisciplinary and comparative approach to crisis experiences across different societies and cultures.

Krisis publishes original research articles, review essays, case studies, conceptual discussions, and book reviews. Each issue includes a thematic dossier; however, high-quality articles falling outside the thematic focus—but within the broader scope of the journal—are also considered for publication.
