Abstract
The reforms and revolutions that emerged because of political developments in Türkiye have directly affected society and brought about changes and transformations in individual and collective life. Because these changes influenced everyday life and social institutions, they have also left traces in the social memory. This study examines how the reforms and revolutions that have been carried out in the field of education are in social memory. The aim of the study is to analyze the social memory that has emerged through society’s responses to these educational reforms and revolutions. Excluding the introduction and conclusion, the article consists of four main sections. The first of these discusses the educational reforms carried out during the reign of Sultan Mahmud II. The next section examines how these reforms have been reflected in social memory. The third section focuses on the educational reforms implemented after the proclamation of the Republic, while the fourth section evaluates these reflections in social memory. As a result, the study concludes that the educational reforms that have been carried out in different periods have had a significant impact on social memory and produced transformative social responses.
